Kasteel Goudenstein in Haaften, Netherlands, dates to the 13th or 14th century as a square moated castle built by the Van Haeften (De Cocq) family, featuring four corner towers and a main building with vaulted cellar, three floors, and attic.
Passing to the Van Brederode family in 1609, it was nearly destroyed in 1672 by French troops during the Rampjaar, leaving only one 19-meter corner tower with wall fragments and traces of battlements. The Dutry van Haeften family restored the surviving tower in 1969 with a slate spire before donating it to Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen in 1975 for preservation as a lone medieval remnant amid farmland.
