Kasteel Huis Bergh in 's-Heerenberg, Netherlands, began as an 11th- or 12th-century motte-burcht that evolved into a grand moated castle by the 13th century, constructed by the powerful Heren van Bergh who amassed regional influence.

Expanded through the 14th, 15th, and 17th centuries amid conflicts like the Eighty Years' War—where owner Willem IV van Bergh initially sided with William of Orange before defecting to Spain—it burned completely in 1735 and was rebuilt until 1746, later serving as a seminary during the 1799-1842 Hollandse Zending before passing to the Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen family in 1712.

Acquired in 1912 by industrialist Jan Herman van Heek, who restored it and housed his medieval art collection before donating it to the community with estate elements like a kaatsbaan and Zeddam mill, it now operates as a museum showcasing its history and Northwest European late-medieval artworks.
