Kasteel Maurick in Vught, Netherlands, originated in the mid-12th century as a noble residence possibly on a motte, first documented in 1421 linked to Katherine van Mauderic and her husband Hendrik van Maurick from Gelderland.

Its oldest surviving parts, including the late 15th-century gatehouse with two towers and cellar vaults, were expanded over centuries by families like Van Beresteyn from 1680 and Van Lanschot, who restored it around 1900 as a summer home before it became a hotel-restaurant.

Now operated as a versatile venue with Restaurant Hendrik van Maurick for fine dining, Brasserie Catharina van Maurick for lunches and high teas, plus spaces for weddings and events on its 2.2-hectare island amid the Dommel River, it blends medieval charm with modern hospitality.
