Lake Kubija
Estonia, Estonia
Lake Kubija is a small, shallow body of water in the Võru region of southeastern Estonia, situated on the outskirts of the town of Võru in the district of Kubija.
It covers just over 15 hectares and is nowhere more than about 5 meters deep, so it warms easily in summer and is well suited for casual swimming and water activities. The lakeside has a developed beach area with changing rooms, toilets, a boat landing, and a diving tower, and a lifeguard operates there in the warmer months, making it a family‑friendly local recreation spot.
The lake and its surrounding pine forest support swimming, fishing, boating, and walking in summer, and in winter the wooded area around it offers ski and roller‑ski trails, while nearby facilities such as the Kubija Hotel & Nature Spa and a campsite make it a popular short‑stay getaway close to the town.
