Twickel Castle, located near Ambt Delden in the Netherlands, is a historic moated castle first mentioned in 1347 and centered on an estate covering around 4,500 hectares. The oldest parts of the current castle date from the mid-16th century, featuring a Renaissance-style entrance and additions made over several centuries.

The estate passed through several noble families, including Van Twickelo, Van Raesfelt, Van Wassenaer, and Van Heeckeren van Wassenaer, and has remained in the family through inheritance by both male and female lines. The castle and its grounds have been carefully preserved, with gardens and parks designed and renovated by prominent landscape architects over the centuries.

Today, the castle is managed by a foundation established in 1953 that ensures its preservation, and it remains inhabited by family descendants. The estate includes farmland, forests, and historic buildings, serving as both a cultural monument and a natural reserve open to visitors for tours and recreational activities.
