Baglyaskő is a distinctive volcanic rock formation and nature reserve in Salgótarján, northern Hungary.

Formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago, the basalt outcrop is considered an important geological landmark and a rare natural feature within the Novohrad-Nógrád Geopark. The site is also linked to local history. In the Middle Ages, a small castle stood on the rock, although only fragments of its fortifications remain today.

Archaeological discoveries show that the area was inhabited for long periods, adding cultural significance to its natural value. Today, Baglyaskő is home to a visitor center operated by the Bükk National Park Directorate, where guests can learn about the region’s geology, wildlife, and history. Short walking trails, educational exhibits, and scenic surroundings make it a popular destination for nature lovers and families.
