Barbo Manor
Vesela Gora, Slovenia, Slovenia
Barbo Manor in Vesela Gora, Slovenia, was built in 1768 as a parochial house and hostel for pilgrims on a key route, later repurposed after pilgrimages ended in 1782.
The noble Barbo family acquired it in 1825, converting it into their residence until 1938, though it suffered partial burning and looting in 1942 during World War II. Nationalized postwar and restored, its ground floor now hosts an ethnological museum, while the first floor features memorial rooms for local apiarist Aleksander Lunaček and priest Peter Pavel Glavar, set in a long, stone-built structure with a vaulted wine cellar and stone-framed windows.
