Calvary Hill (Kálvária-domb) is a historic religious site in Pécs, located just outside the old city walls on a hill overlooking the city.
It is best known for the striking neoclassical Calvary Chapel, built between 1814 and 1817, which is considered one of Hungary’s earliest circular churches in this architectural style. The hill has been a place of Christian devotion for centuries. A series of Stations of the Cross, three crosses on the hilltop.
A Holy Sepulchre cave commemorate the events of Christ’s crucifixion and have made the site an important pilgrimage destination. Today, Calvary Hill is valued both for its religious significance and for its panoramic views of Pécs.
