Gödény-Halom is a large prehistoric burial mound located near Békésszentandrás in southeastern Hungary.

Dating back to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, it is one of the country's most important archaeological landmarks and stands in the former floodplain of the Hármas-Körös River. Rising about 12.2 meters above the surrounding landscape, Gödény-Halom is considered the highest prehistoric mound in Hungary and the largest of the so-called Cumanian mounds in Central Europe.

Archaeologists believe such mounds were built by ancient communities as burial or ceremonial sites. The mound takes its name from the Hungarian word for pelican because the nearby wetlands once served as a resting place for these birds. Although part of the mound was damaged by later road and dam construction, it remains a protected archaeological site of great historical value.

Today, Gödény-Halom is a distinctive feature of the Great Hungarian Plain, attracting visitors interested in archaeology, history, and natural landscapes, while offering a rare glimpse into the region’s ancient past.
