Grad Konjice (Gonobitz Castle), situated above Zgornja Pristava near Slovenske Konjice in northeastern Slovenia, is one of the country's oldest castles, first mentioned in 1148 and likely built earlier on Konjiška Gora's slopes. Originally held by the Lords of Konjice until 1329, it passed through families like Wilthausen, Duino, Walsee, and Tattenbach, evolving from Romanesque origins with Gothic walls, a five-pointed tower, and Renaissance fortifications before falling into ruin by the 18th century under Carthusian and Windischgrätz ownership. Its partially restored ruins today offer panoramic views and stand as a key Styrian heritage site amid winegrowing hills.
