Grad Koprivnik
Vinje, Dol pri Ljubljani, Slovenia, Slovenia
Grad Koprivnik, also called Stari grad or Tovorov grad (Freight Castle), is a ruined 12th-century fortress on a hill near Vinje village in Dol pri Ljubljani municipality, central Slovenia. Built to guard the vital trade route from Moravče Valley to the Lower Sava Valley, it was first owned by Ulschalcus von Rabensberg of the Koprivniški knights around 1214 before abandonment in the 13th century when owners relocated to nearby Krumperk Castle. Passing to the Hohenwarth family and later the Sisters of St. Clare from Mekinje, it fell into ruins by the 17th century and gained its "Freight Castle" nickname in the 19th century due to the adjacent trade path, now standing as atmospheric overgrown remnants amid forested trails.
