Grad Kravjek
Leščevje, Slovenia, Slovenia
Grad Kravjek, known in German as Weineck, was a significant medieval castle whose ruins stand on Kravjek Hill southwest of the village of Leščevje in southeastern Slovenia's Lower Carniola region. First indirectly referenced in 1243 via its castellan Friderik and directly mentioned in 1256 during a Spanheim duke inheritance division, it passed through hands including the Patriarchate of Aquileia by 1279, Counts of Gorizia, Ortenburgs, Celje Counts, and long-term Ravbar noble family under Habsburg rule until 1764, later owned by Födransbergs and others before abandonment. Once a key duchy stronghold managed by ministeriales like Rajnboto Jetrbenški in 1254, its overgrown remnants today evoke local legends and historical tales by authors like Josip Jurčič.
