Graščina Bokalce
Ljubljana, Slovenia, Slovenia
Graščina Bokalce in Ljubljana, Slovenia, occupies a site with fortifications dating to the 12th century under the noble Eghk family, rebuilt after 1657 by the Strobl family into a rectangular manor with corner towers. Johann Weikhard von Valvasor praised its lavish 17th-century interiors with stucco and Dutch paintings by Almanach in 1689, while 18th-century Lamberg owners added a floor, pilastered facade, and northwest annex with tower overlooking the Gradaščica River. Now a protected cultural monument amid proposed developments, it features a mansard roof, ornate portal, and historic garden remnants near the city ring road.
