Kanázsvár Ruin is a small medieval hilltop fortress located on the Baláta Ridge between Mátraderecske and Recsk in the Mátra Mountains.

Built on a steep rocky outcrop that is naturally protected on three sides, it was strategically positioned to overlook the surrounding valleys and routes. The castle is believed to have originated in the 13th century, possibly as the seat of a local noble family. Over time, it was expanded with defensive walls, a courtyard, and a tower, parts of which can still be seen today.

The tallest surviving wall section rises to nearly 15 meters and remains the most striking feature of the ruins. Although its exact history is not fully known, the fortress appears to have lost its importance during the Ottoman period and eventually fell into ruin. Today, only fragments of the tower, walls, and defensive ditches remain. Kanázsvár is now a popular hiking destination, valued for its dramatic setting, medieval atmosphere, and panoramic views of the Mátra landscape and nearby villages.
