Kégl-Palace
Székesfehérvár, Hungary, Hungary
Kégl Palace, more accurately known as Kégl Castle, is a neo-Renaissance mansion located in the Csala area of Székesfehérvár, Hungary.
It was built between 1876 and 1878 for landowner and politician György Kégl, based on designs by the renowned architect Alajos Hauszmann. The estate originally featured a landscaped park with a chapel, fish pond, and marble fountain, reflecting the wealth and status of its owners. After World War II, the building was used for agricultural purposes, and much of the surrounding park was lost.
Although restoration efforts were started at various times, the castle has remained largely unused and stands in a deteriorated condition under private ownership. Despite its decline, Kégl Castle remains one of the most striking historic residences in the region, admired for its elegant tower, distinctive neo-Renaissance architecture, and connection to the history of Székesfehérvár and Fejér County.
