Malonyay kastély
Halásztelek, Hungary, Hungary
Malonyay Castle in Halásztelek is an elegant Neo-Baroque and eclectic mansion built in 1892, surrounded by the remnants of a historic park.
Originally owned by the Warman family and later by the Malonyay family, it became a prominent local landmark and social center known for its grand architecture and ballroom. The castle suffered damage and neglect during and after World War II, serving various purposes including offices and housing before falling into disrepair.
A major restoration completed in 2005 returned much of the building’s historic appearance and saved it from further decline. Today, the restored castle is one of Halásztelek’s most recognizable heritage sites. After being acquired by the local municipality in 2017, it became the home of the town hall and continues to serve as an important cultural and civic landmark.
