Nádasdy Castle in Nádasdladány is one of Hungary’s most beautiful historic mansions, known for its striking Neo-Gothic and English Tudor-style architecture.

It was built between 1873 and 1876 for the influential Nádasdy family and is surrounded by a large English landscape park with lakes, rare plants, and walking paths. The mansion was designed to reflect the prestige and history of the Nádasdy family while incorporating advanced technology for its time, including modern heating, gas lighting, a telephone system, and even an underground rail system for transporting food from a separate kitchen building.

One of its most famous rooms is the Hall of Ancestors, decorated with portraits of family members and elaborate woodwork. The castle also contains a library, chapel, and richly furnished interiors that showcase 19th-century aristocratic life. After periods of decline in the 20th century, the castle underwent extensive restoration and now serves as a museum and cultural attraction. Today, visitors come to admire its fairytale-like appearance, historic interiors, and beautifully restored park.
