Ortneški ali Stari grad
Ortnek, Slovenia, Slovenia
Ortneški grad, also known as Stari grad or Ortnek Castle, is a 12th-century ruined fortress on Veliki Žrnovec Hill near Ortnek village in Ribnica municipality, southern Slovenia. Built around 1161 by Count Otto II of Ortenburg as a small fort, it passed to the Counts of Celje in the early 15th century, then Habsburgs and Lamberg family, enduring peasant revolts and Ottoman raids that prompted Renaissance rebuilding before declining in the late 16th century. Owned by the Moscon Counts in the 17th century—who added St. George chapel—and later the Kosler family until nationalization in 1946, the abandoned ruins feature remnants of walls, towers, and a chapel now preserved as a cultural site amid forested trails.
