Polhov Gradec Castle is a historic manor house in the picturesque village of Polhov Gradec, central Slovenia, first documented in 1315 as a wooden fortress that evolved into a stone Renaissance structure by the 16th century under noble families like the Polhograjski and later Counts of Celje.

Expanded with symmetrical facades, a chapel, belvedere, Neptune fountain, and loggia by owners such as Mark Anton Kunstel Baumgarten in the late 17th century, it became an Enlightenment hub under 19th-century Count Rihard Ursini Blagaj, promoting agriculture, arts, and local development.

Damaged by earthquakes and a 1514 peasant revolt—leading to partial abandonment—its lower manor endured nationalization post-WWII, school use until 1969, and eventual restoration in the 1990s, now housing Slovenia's Technical Museum with exhibits on postal history, telecommunications, and regional heritage amid scenic Poljane Valley views.
