The Royal Palace of Gödöllő is a grand Baroque palace in Gödöllő, just northeast of Budapest, and it is one of Hungary’s most important historic royal residences.
Built in the 18th century and later closely associated with Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth “Sisi,” it became a favored summer retreat of the royal couple. After periods of wartime damage and neglect, it was restored and now serves as a museum and event venue set within a large park.
