Triglav National Park, located in northwestern Slovenia, is the only national park in the country and covers about 880 square kilometers, roughly 4% of Slovenia's territory.

Named after Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak at 2,864 meters, the park is a stunning alpine wilderness featuring jagged mountain peaks, deep glacial valleys, pristine rivers and lakes, caves, waterfalls, and dense forests predominantly of beech, spruce, and larch. It is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, including endangered species like the brown bear, wolf, lynx, and golden eagle, with some 19 endemic plant species.

The park also preserves cultural heritage through old alpine villages, traditional crafts, and historical sites. It is a place where nature and human history coexist, offering opportunities for hiking, climbing, river rafting, and exploring the natural beauty of the Julian Alps. The Soča and Sava rivers, picturesque gorges, and lakes such as Bohinj add to the park's exceptional appeal as a natural and cultural treasure in Slovenia.
